Text Diff Checker

What is a Text Diff?

A "diff" (short for difference) is a text comparison tool that takes two bodies of text and highlights exactly what has changed between them. It is an essential utility for developers reviewing code changes, writers comparing document drafts, or anyone trying to find out what was added or deleted from a file.

Split View vs Unified View

There are two primary ways to view text differences:

  • Split View: Displays the original text on the left and the modified text on the right. This is highly recommended for wide screens and large files, as it clearly isolates the changes side-by-side.
  • Unified View: Merges both versions into a single inline column, showing deleted lines in red directly above the newly added lines in green. This is best for small changes or mobile devices.

Is my code secure?

Yes, 100% secure. OmniTools operates on a strict "Zero Server Upload" architecture. When you paste your proprietary code or sensitive documents into this tool, the Longest Common Subsequence (LCS) diffing algorithm runs entirely locally within your browser.

Your text never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our backend servers.
